Searching for Lyric and Elizabeth: The Evansdale Paddleboater

I would like to know Iowa’s regulations for operating paddleboats. At the time of Lyric’s and Elizabeth’s abduction, witnesses saw someone operating a paddleboat on Myers Lake (where the girls’ bikes were located). After law enforcement officials drained the pond and ruled out drowning, the FBI encouraged the paddleboat operator to come forward because he/she may have valuable information that could bring the girls home.  With that said, if paddleboats are considered as vessels in Iowa, I would look at vessel registrations, including local bate and sport shops that rented paddleboats on the day of or weeks prior to Elizabeth's and Lyric's disappearance.

All I can do is pray for the safety and return of these beautiful girls, and help keep their story alive in the media by posting entries like this and visiting other blogs and forums. There is a wealth of information on the abduction and disappearance of Lyric and Elizabeth at websleuths.com.

About Casey Anthony...

I am disgusted by the bloggers, journalists, and idiots who harass and torment Casey and the Anthony family. These people are too emotionally involved with the case. It seems to me they cannot separate their personal prejudices and opinions from the facts and laws.

What gives them the right to prejudge Casey and her defense team?

If these jackasses want to throw stones, then throw them at the sick bastard who chopped up an 8 year old boy in tiny little pieces!

Timeline of Events: A Car Fire

On January 15, 2010, I took my 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle to Concours Motors' Service Department for repair work on the car's electrical system that was malfunctioning. The ignition switch, blower motor, right and left headlights, and headlight lock were replaced, including fuses for the back up lights, door locks, cooling fan, headlights, and windshield wipers.  The radio wire was pulled too.

I paid $489.08 for the repair work, but a week later, the car's electrical system continued to malfunction. I complained to the Service Department, and demanded they re-inspect the repair work they did on my car.  They agreed to for a fee of $125.00.  I couldn't afford it, so that never happened.  Instead, Concours Motors pulled a fuse at no cost to me.

A week later, my VW Bug that had only 130,000 miles burst into flames. The Milwaukee Fire Department 's report indicates the cause of the fire was due to an electrical malfunction.  Concours Motor's Inc. refuses to take responsibility and refund me $489.08.

January 15, 2010 – I took my 2000 VW New Beetle at Concours Motors Inc. at 1400 West Silver Spring Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53209 for repairs because I had problems with the electrical system:  car radio worked, but smoked; loss of headlights, hatchback and gas cap power failure, odometer and speedometer stopped working, and  heat / fan motor  failed too.

January 15, 2010 - I paid Concours Motors Inc. $ 489.08 for repairs:  Ignition switch, blower motor, right and left headlights, and headlight lock were replaced, including fuses for the back up lights, door locks, cooling fan, headlights, and windshield wipers.  The radio wire was pulled too, but the powered hatchback still didn’t work.  Th Service Advisor said, “the trunk release will need further diagnosis." Frankly, this is unacceptable because that was part of the problem.

January 25, 2010 – Running /Day/Fog and interior lights would not power off.

January 25, 2010 - I called,  the Service Advisor and complained that the electrical system in the car continued to malfunction.  I demanded they re-inspect the work they did on my car.  Concours Motors agreed to but only at a price of $125.00, but I refused to pay this amount because I had already paid them $489.08 for the same repair.

January 25, 2010 - I called the Service Advisor a second time.  I asked if it would be ok to disconnect the battery, so that it wouldn’t drain while the lights remained on.  She said it would be an option.

January 25, 2010 – I returned to my vehicle and tried to disconnect the battery, but I was afraid to because the battery was almost underneath a voltage system, so I left it alone.

January 25, 2010 – I called the Service Advisor, a third time and explained the battery assembly was too complicated for me to disconnect.  I asked the location of the fuse for the interior lights and running/day/fog lights, so it could be pulled and not drain my battery.  The Service Advisor told me to bring in my car and Concours Motors will locate the fuse, mark it and show me how to remove it, so that the lights would power off and not drain the battery.

January 25, 2010 – I drove my car to Concours Motors Inc. The Service Advisor, showed me the location of the fuse (fuse No. 20) to be pulled; labeled it so I could easily identify it, and removed it.  The interior lights, running/day/fog lights finally powered off without the fuse.

January 25, 2010 - 8:00 PM - The interior and running / daylights powered back on, which didn’t make sense because the fuse was removed.

January 26, - January 27, 2010 - With the fuse still out, I continued to experience problems with the electrical system, which became more severe in that on the driver’s side below the instrument panel and steering column the vehicle began to smoke, which eventually stopped after I turned off the motor.

January 28, 2010 – February 3, 2010 – Drove vehicle w/out Fuse No. 20; sometimes the lights would turn off; and sometimes, they wouldn’t, and it would also begin to smoke, and the smoke would start and stop.

January 29, 2010 - I called Service Manager, Steve Halverson.  I complained and demanded they re-inspect the ignition switch and everything else they repaired because the vehicle continued to have problems with the electrical system.  He said they would look at my car, but only at a fee of $125.00, which I refused to pay.

February 3, 2010 – 7:00 PM:  With the symptoms detailed above, I turned the car on to see what would happen and smoke began to come out, so I turned it off, but the smoke continued and it burst into flames.

February 4, 2010 – Left message for Concours Motors Assistant General Manager, Jim Clark and Owner, Carl Reesoff.

February 4, 2010 – Called Concours Motors Assistant General Manager, Jim Clark a second time and was able to reach him.  I complained about the repair on my vehicle, told him my vehicle was destroyed in a fire due to an “electrical malfunction” and demanded a refunded of  $489.08. The conversation produced no results.

February 5, 2010 – Concours Motors owner, Carl Reesoff returned my call.  I had two conversations with him on this day.  The outcome of these conversations was upsetting.  Mr. Reesoff refused to take responsibility for the loss of my vehicle and denied my request for a refund.  Instead, he offered to sell me a new car.

February 5, 2010 – Salvaged vehicle for $25.00.

Pictures and Thanks!

Thanks to my sister's great photography skills, I have these pictures of what's left of my VW.
Also, thanks to Mary, I am ALIVE! With the car smoking, and as stubborn as I am,  I was going to drive it home, but Mary said, "NO! YOU WAIT!" Thanks Mary!
The VW Dealership, Concours Motors, refuses to take responsibility.  All I want is a refund of $500.00 for the money I spent to have the electrical problem fixed, which as you can see, wasn't.

Am I'm asking for too much?

What's the Irony in this..?

Dear Journal...

Today is the day!

I made the deadline for Graduate School!

This morning I submitted all application materials to the Department of English. It was a great feeling to proudly hand deliver my manuscript, Dear Lawyer under the category, Creative Non-Fiction.

Now, I wait until February to see whether or not I get accepted. I am praying for good things.

The manuscript is 56 pages long, which includes an Introduction, Prologue and PART I: Chapters, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Chapter 4 was the most difficult chapter to write. Here's the beginning of that chapter...then, you'll know why.

-       Chapter 4 –

One Week Later

Exactly a week after I wrote the letter to Goon CEO, October 14, 2002, officially became the worse day of my life. Nobody but me knows how much I hate this part of the story. Anytime I write about it, talk about it or even think about it, an icky, crappy, poopy type of feeling overwhelms me. It would be nice if I could hit the backspace button and delete all the things I said and done that brought this fate upon me, but I can’t. I did what I did, and what is done is done.

In my world, every October 14th is a personal day of mourning; It’s the only time I think about what happened; On all other days, I struggle not to, but there’s always something that triggers a memory like the numbers 14 and 41, or the time of day, 10:14 AM and 10:14 PM. It’s like my very own Friday the 13th with my name on it and stamped with the devil’s signature.

This is what and how it happened..."

I'm working on it...

Dear Journal:

Now that I'm settled in my new digs it was time to get serious and focus on the December 14th deadline for Graduate School.

Most of the application materials are in like the initial application, my GRE scores, undergrad and graduate transcripts, and Statement of Purpose. The English Department is waiting for my letters of recommendation, the teaching assistantship application and my 30-page  manuscript.

Since  YOU are the focus of my manuscript, Dear Lawyer, I've been reading and visiting you A LOT! Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to write a little bit each time I visit you.  I think I will.

My writer's block is getting much better!!!! Yesterday, for example, I sat here in my home office and wrote  10 hours!  I can thank my Guardian Angels for that.

Enough said.

I promise to write again...SOON.

Dear Journal:

Yeah, I know.  It's been a while, but I've been busy working on writers block and me.

Guess what?  This weekend I move to Milwaukee's "fashionable eastside," so I can be closer to work.  Everyday for almost a year, I've been commuting to Milwaukee from Madison.  Since my lease finally expired it only makes sense to move.

I promise to write more when I get settled in my new digs.

Always and forever,

A RED FLAG moment

Dear Journal:

I really need to work out my writer's block.  It comes and goes. I guess that's better than not coming at all. To unblock the block, I need to experiment with my writing, so this is what I'm going to do for today.  I am going to tell a story in third person about what happened today when I took my mountain bike out for a ride.

Justice Diva was riding the Glacial River Bike trail,  an 8-mile route that extends from  downtown Fort Atkinson to the Jefferson/Rock County line. For living in such a small town, and out in the middle nowhere, Justice Diva has the best bike trips ever because she always returns with a story tell.
Let's just say her bike trip today was a creepy one.
Upon completing the trail, she approached a traffic light.  It was red, so she stopped and waited. As she sipped her bottle of water, Justice Diva couldn't help to notice a man, in car, at the stop light doing "inappropriate things that made her jaw drop.
He looked at her...he looked at her... and he looked at her!

This is what Justice Diva calls, a RED FLAG moment!
The light turned green.  The man in the car turned right. Like a pervert, he drove slowly with his eyes affixed on Justice Diva.  Little did he know, she was watching him too.  There was no need for her to panic and she didn't because she was in control of the situation.
Justice Diva crossed the street. The pervert in the car was waiting for her by the riverwalk. She felt her heart take an extra beat.  The trail continues along the river, but she took a detour.
Still, she didn't panic.
From the corner of her eye, she saw something moving slowly. It was him driving slow like a pervert and he continued to watch her.
It was another RED FLAG MOMMENT.
Enough is enough! Justice Diva had a plan.
As the pervert continued to stalk her, she took that opportunity to focus not so much on him, but rather the license plate number.

She got it...216 JBK.
216 JBK.
216 JBK.
216 JBK.
Justice Diva was at the perfect place at the perfect time.  Her guardian angels were there guiding her to safety.  Straight ahead onto her right is the town's police station. Law enforcement was an arm stretch away.
She continued  her mantra..236 JKT?

No! That's not it.

236 JTK. No! That's not it.

With the combination of fear and excitement, she forgot the license plate number.  The numbers were jumbled in her head. The dyslexia kicked in at the wrong time.

Justice Diva turned around and headed back to the river.

The man in the car was waiting.

This time, she was determined NOT to forget the license plate number.  How could she? It was a RED FLAG MOMENT. What about the children riding their scooters and bicycles? Kids, women, kids and women. No.
Justice Diva kept her eyes on the car.  The pervert was waiting by the river.  The car moved slowly toward her.  She got the number! 216 JBK.

216 JBK.

216 JBK.

216 JBK.

Justice turned around and headed toward the cop shop.  Her angels were with her again.  A police officer walked out of nowhere.

She peddled...and peddled...and peddled.

"Officer 216 JBK! Write it down before I forget! 216 JBK!"

Justice Diva gave a statement to the officer.

The children, the women and Justice Diva were finally safe!

The End.

It's ok.  It could be better.

Anyway, the  entire bike trip was creepy.  I didn't even finish it.  Before the pervert incident happened, I turned around.

There's another chapter to this story. A stretch of the trail extends to a private country road for about 1 mile. There's an abandoned mansion, a dilapitated barn, two corn fields, one on each side of the road, a long driveway, a radio, and a black car.

There was too much creepiness for me in one day, so next time I ride the trail, I will write about.  I promise.

It's passed my bedtime, so I am ending it here.

CASE ALERT: Missing Children Found ALIVE!

If given the opportunity, I would dedicate my life to help find missing children, women, and men. Indeed, it would be heart breaking, but we need to keep our children safe and help the missing find their way home.  Prince Hal, my nephew and Godson is now 3, so when I hear stories of missing children, especially toddlers, it hits me REALLY HARD.

GREAT NEWS!  Two children that were reported missing two weeks ago have been found, and they are ALIVE!

FOUND ALIVE: Last Thursday, Briant Rodriguez was found wandering the streets of Mexicali, Mexico. He is 3-years old, and is now home with his family.

Briant Rodriguez, 3, was taken during a home invasion on May 3 in San Bernardino, California, police say.

FOUND ALIVE: Thrusday, May 7, 2009  - 3-year old toddler, JOSHUA CHILDERS, spent two rainy days and nights in the mammoth Mark Twain Naitional Forest. Two days after he was reported missing, Joshua was found alive in forest by a creek.

My Distraction

  • Quote of the Day: "If it's him who I end up with in the end, then all the shit that I've been through would be worth it." - Justice I. Diva

The week started on a pleasant note. I got great vibes, things seemed to be going in a positive direction, and it appeared as though everything was working in my favor, including "enchanting my distraction."
But, then, by midweek, the positive energy that I was feeling and experiencing evaporated into thin air! It was weird.  Several
opportunities surfaced that would have allowed me to open up and and dazzle my "distraction" but I struck out each time.   I couldn't believe it.  Its easy for me to strike up a conversation with anyone, including my "distraction" but when I had the chance to do it, I literally froze. I said nothing.  It was like my tongue was paralyzed or something.  I even called out for my guardian angels, but i think they were on vacation because I continued to strike out, one after the other.
Then, Friday came. When I woke up in the morning, I was determined to have the best day ever. I dressed really cute, I had great hair day, and I prayed good things for EVERYONE, and not just myself.  But, whatever it was from the previous day still lingered.  I got lured into an ugly argument with the bitch (a middle-aged woman who hates me), then, I was overwhelmed with emotion that came from every direction.
As a result of everything, I was overwhelmed with all sorts of emotions that actually made me physically sick.  I puked my guts out several times, I generated a fever of one-hundred and two, and I left for home at lunchtime.
To make matters worse, with my eyes red, bloodshot and teary-eyed, there was my distraction. Right there! I pretended that I didn't see him because the last thing I needed was my distraction to see me in the poor shape that I was in.  He only saw me once with tears in my eyes a few months ago after I was bullied by someone and something. The  concern in his eyes that one time just melted my  heart.  In any case, I didn't want that to acknowledge his presence because unlike last time when I was able to turn it around and make it seem like nothing was wrong,  I didn't have the strength to do that.  I didn't want to clam up and say nothing like I did at every chance I had Thursday,  so I looked straight ahead, didn't look back, and disappeared through the doors leading to the stairwell.   My heart dropped to my stomach because I struck out AGAIN!
Then, what happened next and last was very strange. With the way I was feeling, and being between floors 3 and 2 on foot in the stairwell, there was Sookie, one of our very own sweet TAs.  This is what she said to me:

"Justice Diva. You are so beautiful.  I've been wanting to say that to you.  I don't know what it is, but lately, these passed days and weeks, you have been EXTRA BEAUTIFUL!  I don't know what it is, but I had to tell you."

What was that? Of course, I thanked her for the compliment and said that was the sweetest, best, and most incredible thing that anyone has said to me this entire year! By the time I reached the parking log, I was so overwhelmed by emotion that I bowed my head and cried. I was happy, I was flattered, I was confounded, but I was also sad because whatever it was that Sookie saw in me, made me think,  but why can't he see it too, or does he?

A Penny for Your Thoughts

  • Mood:

I need to resume writing again.  The writer's block comes and gos. I guess that's better than just coming and staying indefinitely. It's amazing that 4 years of litigation and swimming with sharks that entire time, clogged everything up in my head.  I'm still not the same.  It never will be.

Now I need to focus on my future.  Now I work for professors, scientists and physicists at a University.  I am their librarian, researcher, assistant, and whatever it is that they need done.

Graduate school is in the future for me.  December 15, 2009 is the deadline.  By then all application materials are due, which include:

  • Transcripts
  • Application and Essay
  • Letter of References
  • GRE
  • Academic writing sample
  • A 30-page manuscript of creative fiction

To make this happen, I have to start writing again and confront my writer's block whether I like it or not.  Writer's Block.  That will be the theme of my essay that I hope will get me into graduate school.  I got in once before...back when things were normal like in the year 2001.  If I got in then, there is no reason why I cannot get in now.

What will i write?

I guess I'll write things that overwhelm me with passion and emotion because that's the root of my best writing. For those who know me, some things I write will fit and make sense, and certain things will not.  It depends on what I write.  You'll see. It will all come together.

Whose is it?

Dear .....Me

I've followed the Caylee Anthony saga everyday since the story broke. There are blogs, newspapers, tv shows, etc. that have been covering every detail of this case. Nancy Grace is my favorite.  The Criminal Report Daily is another great source.

But...there's one question about the investigation that neither source answered, addressed, discussed...whatever.  Maybe no one thought about it, but then, maybe someone did.

This is what's on my mind...

Caylee's skeletal remains were found on Private Property, but whose property is it?

Is it government private property?

Is it civilian private property?

Whose is it?

I would like to know.

Justice for Caylee

This weekend, Texas EquuSearch is conducting a HISTORICAL missing person search for baby Caylee.  It's supposed to be the largest search EVER known.  Today in Orlando, Florida, 5,000+ volunteers from all over the country are searching a 25 mile square radius of land in efforts to recover the remains of this toddler, so she could have a proper burial and to rest in peace.

Click on this link http://www.justiceforcaylee.com/, watch, and listen to this flash presentation.  Get a box of kleenex.  When I watched it, I weeped for this little baby and her grandparents.  Retrospectively, I opposed the death penalty, but for Casey Anothony, the selfish, cruel, sociopathic, neurotic and narcissistic mother, I hope she fries in the chair as she begs for God's mercy.
